View at the Ooty railway station. For the Niligiri Passenger Train (NMR) this station is the starting point for the train to go to Mettupalayam (near Coimbatore). It was sheer joy to travel on the meter gauge steam locomotives which is one of the oldest mountain railways in India (since 1899). In July 2005, UNESCO added the NMR as an extension to the World Heritage Site of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.

Number of visitors enjoy coming and re-living the old times at Humanyun's tomb which is an UNESCO's designated world heritage site.

Humanyun's tomb was built (completed) in 1570 on the orders of Hamida Banu Begum who was Humayun's wife. Construction was started in 1562. The tomb is an UNESCO's designated world heritage site. The site is a complex of buildings.
