Educate Girls, founded in 2007, is a non-governmental organization that holistically tackles issues at the root of gender inequality in India’s educational system. A comprehensive model reforms government schools through community ownership and ensures full enrollment, higher attendance and improved learning outcomes for all girls. Educate Girls involves and empowers various stakeholders to create a system that promotes and supports girls’ education. Educate Girls works to reform government schools by leveraging existing community and government resources. Along with education, the NGO focuses on improving school infrastructure for girls, bringing about community ownership and advocating girl leadership.
