Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) [Association for Voluntary Action (AVA)] symbolizes India’s largest grassroots movement for the protection of children, ensuring their quality education. By 2013, BBA had rescued more than 82,800 victims of trafficking, slavery and child labour and has helped them re-establish trust in society and find promising futures for themselves. Since its establishment by the Indian children’s rights activist Kailash Satyarthi in 1980, BBA has led the world’s largest civil society campaign in the form of the Global March Against Child Labour and has been at the forefront of laying down laws against child labour and trafficking in India. BBA's vision is to create a child friendly society, where all children are free from exploitation and receive free and quality education.

Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) implements prevention, rehabilitation and advocacy activities, including the identification of high child trafficking areas and forming of Child Friendly Villages (CFVs) in those environments. BBA challenges perpetrators of child exploitation in the court system, and works on the rehabilitation of survivors of by linking them to social protection schemes and reintegrating them into schools. At national and global levels, BBA conducts advocacy and awareness campaigns and builds coalitions against child trafficking. BBA leads the world's largest civil society campaign – the Global March Against Child Labour – and is at the forefront of laying down laws against child labour and trafficking in India. BBA's founder, Kailash Satyarthi, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for his work to end child slavery. Since it began, BBA has rescued more than 82,000 victims of trafficking, slavery and child labour. At national and global levels, BBA also conducts advocacy and awareness campaigns and builds partnerships and coalitions against child trafficking.
