Eagle Square / Dataran Lang is Langkawi's most prominent landmark for visitors arriving by sea and also a place visited by others. Situated near the Kuah jetty, the main attraction of the square is the magnificent statue of the reddish brown eagle majestically poised for flight. According to local folklore, the name Langkawi itself is derived from- the eagle or "helang". In old Malay, "kawi" denotes reddish brown - hence, Langkawi means reddish brown eagle!

The Sydney Harbour Bridge near Darling Harbour. This steel arch bridge across Sydney Harbour was formally opened in March 1932 and the bridge was the city's tallest structure until 1967. It carries rail, vehicular, and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. From the bridge one gets a nice view of Sydney's Opera House.
